I am sitting here writing this post wearing one of my mom’s fur coats I found in her closet. As you can imagine, her closet(s) are a literal treasure trove, always something new to discover. A quilted wrap jacket that turns into a pillow with striped piping and UK embroideries from Standard and Strange. An oversized metallic green overcoat from Evie Lou that has become her everyday wear. If I haven’t seen a coat before I generally ask questions: Where did this come from? When did you buy it? Shopping is really never so much about necessity and all about the story behind it. Life lessons I’ve learned from my mother.
I am inside wearing one of my mom’s vintage Carole Little fur coats, where the house is a fair temperature for the Kansas winter, but I am embracing the recent trend of fur coats that I discovered in Paris. They were absolutely everywhere. And while I didn’t snap so many fashion-specific photos in France, let me tell you a bit about what I saw and wore.
